I can't live without this Dual Monitor KVM. It was easy to setup and worked immediately. I know connect my Mac Mini and my Dell laptop and I can easily switch back and forth with no problem. I'm loving the fact that I can have one keyboard and mouse for both computers. I highly recommend this!
Initially I tried a slightly cheaper KVM option, and was disappointed by a complete lack of consistency (when switching, monitors would often go black requiring me to mess with cables). So I didn't have the highest of expectations when ordering this model which was only $50-$75 more.
Been using this KVM for a month now and have no complaints. Switching is pretty quick (maybe 1, 2 seconds max), and I've had no issues at all with connectivity. My two laptop docks have DisplayPort outputs, so I am using DP to HDMI adaptors (search for "STARWARE DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter 2 Pack"), then plugging into the KVM with the provided HDMI cables (which seem to be of good quality). Then out from from the KVM to my monitors via HDMI to DVI cables. Despite the mixed connections (DP/HDMI/DVI), there's been no issues.
Overall, happy with this hardware, and relieved to find out that it IS possible to get a decent KVM for under $1000!
I use it to split two monitors and a mouse and keyboard to 2 different computers. It works well. You can add adapters to use more monitors.
exactly what I need to make both systems work
I hooked everything up, without using the manual, and it all just worked. That's the way it should be.
Everything is working 100%. The EDID makes it so Windows doesn't redetect everything every time I switch PCs. The one I am replacing would rearrange the monitors after redetecting. Was very annoying.
I've only had it a few days but so far, so good.
