① Starting Point: The Issue Began with a System Upgrade
One day, we received a ticket from a German user named Eike. His Mac Mini (2018) had just been upgraded to macOS Sequoia 15.3.2, and suddenly the device “went on strike”:
The mouse was stuck in the upper-left corner and wouldn’t move, and the keyboard also stopped responding entirely.
What confused him even more was that the same keyboard and mouse worked perfectly fine on Windows 11.
This affected his daily work, so he urgently sought our help.
② Real Confusion: Compatibility Problems Are Often More Complicated Than They Seem
At first glance, it looked like a minor glitch. But as more users reported similar issues after upgrading the system, we realized it was actually a hidden compatibility challenge:
• The new system caused unexpected behavior in older firmware
• Users couldn’t work normally and became anxious
• If not resolved promptly, it could easily be mistaken as a product quality issue
This was no longer just a technical problem, but one related to trust and experience.
③ Our Assessment Process: From Suspecting Firmware to Providing a Quick Solution
Our support team carefully reviewed the user’s device information and the reproduction scenario.
Based on experience, we initially determined that this was a compatibility conflict between macOS Sequoia and the KVM firmware.
So we immediately sent a firmware upgrade package, a PDF upgrade guide, and a download link for the Windows-specific upgrade tool.
After following the guide, the user successfully upgraded and immediately told us:
“Keyboard and mouse both work again, you guys deserve a thumbs up!”
We were truly relieved at that moment.
But the story didn’t end there.
④ Actions and Improvements: One Issue Pushed Us to Reevaluate “Compatibility Maintenance”
A few days later, after the user upgraded macOS to a higher version, the mouse was fine, but the keyboard stopped being detected again.
To ensure the issue was truly resolved, we continued digging deeper, discussing the keyboard model, connection ports, and analyzing potential differences in input device compatibility.
Eventually, after switching to a USB wired keyboard, everything returned to normal and ran stably.
This experience also prompted us to implement the following improvements:
• Strengthen firmware compatibility testing for macOS Sequoia
• Expand the keyboard compatibility database
• Update the user manual with system-upgrade-related notes
• Improve the firmware upgrade process and instructional wording
These actions are not “mandatory,” but they are crucial for users.
⑤ Customer Feedback
After the issue was resolved, the user sincerely commented:
“Very good, I am very satisfied. Great support, smooth communication, problem solved.”
This feedback means more to us than any KPI.
⑥ Closing: This Experience Showed Us That “Being There” Matters More Than “Upgrading”
This ticket made us realize:
When users choose to continue using our products, whether old or new, they are choosing trust.
And with every system upgrade, we must ensure that this trust is never compromised.
So in all future firmware, software, and compatibility optimizations, we will always remember this user —
He reminded us that:
Technology can be updated, but users must never be left behind.
